It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Curtis Harvey, known by many as Dick, at the Chinook Regional Hospital on his 61st birthday, September 29, 2025, with family by his side.
Dick will be missed by his life partner and dearest friend, Denise King, whose love and companionship were a constant source of joy and strength in his life.
A proud father, Dick leaves behind his cherished children: Alicia Dixon of Edmonton, Charmain Harvey and Andrea Harvey, both of Taber, and his recently united son, Brandon Gillis of Lethbridge. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Randal, sister Diana and Twyla and many nieces and nephews.
Dick is predeceased by his beloved infant son, Justin Harvey, and daughter Rashel Anderson, whose memories he carried with him always. He also joins in rest with his mother Donna Harvey and his brothers, Rae Harvey and Lawrence Harvey.
Dick had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace in nature — especially while fishing, one of his favorite pastimes. He shared a close bond with his loyal dog, Lucky, who was never far from his side.
He took great pride in his work as a maintenance worker, dedicating many years of service to Mountain Minerals and later Viterra, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dependability.
Beyond his work and love of nature, Dick was a man of many interests. He enjoyed watching movies, collecting antiques, and practicing his guitar in quiet moments. He was also a natural storyteller, often entertaining those around him with his humor, warmth, and vivid recollections.
Forever loved. Never forgotten.
