Randal Wade Baker

In the evening of February 28, 2023, Randal Wade Baker of Raymond passed away in his home at the age of 58.
Randy was born in Taber, Alberta to Rex and Jeannette Baker on November 2, 1964. He grew up in New Dayton, Stirling, and Raymond, Alberta. He attended Raymond High School (class of ‘82), where he developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning.
After graduating from Raymond High School, he served an honourable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Winnipeg, Manitoba, which he often referred to as Winterplague. Upon return from his mission, he married his sweetheart Sharon Palmer in the Cardston, Alberta temple and together they raised 6 children. While raising six kids, he earned his Education Degree from the university of Lethbridge. Randy was a passionate teacher and spent the majority of his career at the Spring Valley Colony, where he loved and was beloved by all and will be greatly missed.
Randy loved the outdoors and many of his hobbies included spending time in God’s creations. He had a servant’s heart and could always be counted on to help others in need, especially his children. He was a devoted father and grandfather who instilled in each of them a love for life and a tolerance for dad jokes. His smile was contagious, and his friends and family recount how his quick wit and sense of humour could always make their day. His greatest joy in life was watching his children grow and his family expand.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his 6 children, Justin Baker (Bre Banford), Mitchell (Rachel) Baker, Jessica (Shae) Stevenson, Brigham Baker (Karah Orr), Tyler Baker and Hannah Baker, as well as eight (8) grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Cheryl) Baker and sisters Tawna Wilson and Laura Cottell, and sister-in-law, Cathy Baker. He is preceded in death by his father, Rex, his mother, Jeannette, and siblings Greg and Darla Baker.
The family expresses great appreciation and gratitude for the EMS who worked on Randy and did all they could for him. We thank them for their efforts.
Friends may meet the family on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Taylor Street Chapel, 221 North 400 West, Raymond and prior to the service at the same location from 10:00-10:45 a.m.. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday March 11, 2023 at 11 AM at the Taylor Street Chapel. Interment will follow the in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
