Patricia 'Joan' Gregson

Patricia Joan Gregson was born in Lethbridge on October 6th 1934, and peacefully passed away late Wednesday night February 8, 2023.

Joan, as she was affectionately called, grew up in Pioneer, BC. In her youth, she loved to ski, skate, and sledding down mountains with mattresses. She served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and she also was a dancer who taught ballet. Later in her young adult years, she met and married Garry Gregson. Garry Gregson passed just four months prior, and this year would mark their 66th wedding anniversary. Together Joan and Garry raised six children; Bonnie (Brent) Hirsche, Lori (Robert) Heringer, Lisa (Scott) Shettell, Garry (Bonnie) Gregson, Leslie (Merthan) Beck and Terri (Shaun) Cahoon. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Joan had a way of getting people to smile with a twinkle in her eye and wide grin that you couldn’t help but return. She was always teasing her children and grandchildren to keep them in line, and she would tell them “to go jump in a lake” when they responded back to her teasing. She kept secret chocolate stashes.  She loved flowers, nature, and learning new things. Polar Bears were by far her favorite animal, and her home was decorated with white bears of different shapes and sizes. She loved her family and was always willing to give a hand to those in need. She had a mighty spirit, a strong faith in the Saviour, and loved the scriptures. She will be greatly missed, and just like her husband before her, never forgotten.

Friends may meet the family prior to the service on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 10:00 to 10:40 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Garden Place Chapel, Magrath with the Funeral Service beginning at the church at 11:00 am with Bishop Scott Wolsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Stirling Cemetery.
