Nelda Caroline Bullock

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a dear wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Nelda Caroline (Loxton) Bullock.

 Nelda was born March 13, 1925 in Magrath and passed away peacefully in the Chinook Regional Hospital August 6, 2020 at the age of 95 years.

 She met the love her life, David ‘Lee’ Bullock while they were both living at the ‘Castle’ House in Raymond and they were married and sealed for time and eternity in the Cardston, Alberta Temple on July 21, 1948 and were happily married for 72 years.

 In 1960, Nelda and Lee welcomed their baby girl Nelda-Lee into their home and hearts, their pride and joy. There was nothing Nelda would not do for her little girl.

 She had a love of learning and turned that passion into her career, teaching school at a Hutterite colony, Raymond Elementary, Gilbert Paterson, Dorothy Gooder and Lethbridge College before going back to Raymond Elementary where she retired from. She received many accolades from the superintendent and principals that she worked with. Nelda loved her teaching job and her students loved her back.

 She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and following her retirement Nelda and Lee travelled while researching and compiling volumes of family names for genealogy. These adventures took them all across the globe, including North America, England and Australia. Nelda wrote a book about her experiences of researching her family, the relatives she found and the friends she made.

 This love of family ran deep. Her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren were never left wanting, she would never say ‘no’ to any request they had. She was often described by many as feisty but also kind hearted and would give you the shirt off of her back.

 Nelda is survived by her loving spouse David ‘Lee’ Bullock, her daughter Nelda-Lee (Robert) Delaney, her grandson Daylan (Aubrey) Delaney, her granddaughter Janay(Tyler) Payant and great grandchildren Tristyn, Taylor, Lincoln, Holly and Lyric.

 There will be opportunity to meet with the family and a viewing on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 10:00 - 10:45 with the funeral following at 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Forestry Avenue Chapel, 4105 Forestry Ave S. A reminder that all who attend will need to wear a mask inside the church and when physical distancing is not an option.  Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery. There will be limited seating at the actual service, but you can watch the live stream found on the Christensen Salmon Generations Obituary Website.
