Michael Shaw

Michael David Shaw passed away on January 9, 2025, after a brave and courageous battle with brain cancer.

Mike was born and raised in Lethbridge and grew into a loyal, quiet, steadfast young man. Even through the hardest of times, Mike never lost his joy for life or his sense of humor.

Mike is survived by his father, Lachlan; Mother, Lori-Anne; Grandmother, Rebecca; brothers, Merv and Lachlan; as well as nephew, Odin; Niece, Willow; Stepdad, Stan; and dear friend, Rosalie. His memory will be cherished by many other extended family members and close friends.

As per Michael’s final request, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, Michael would ask that all who knew him to find the joy in their own lives and be at peace. He is free now.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Merrill Steed, Dr. Brandon Steed, Dr. De Robles, Dr. John Kelly, and from his palliative care team, Dr. Walters, and Jaden Niel.

The family also wishes to thank all the staff at Adaptacare and St. Michael’s Palliative Care unit for the wonderful care and compassion that was given to Michael.

Most of all, thank you to Michael, for being the beacon of joy in all our lives. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered- Until We Meet Again.
