Melham Roque

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Melham Roque, who departed this life on April 13, 2025, at the age of 80.

Melham was the devoted husband of Mrs. Arsenia Roque and a cherished father to Merlene (David) Evangelista of Washington State; Andrew (Melody) Roque of Lethbridge, AB; and Myrah (Edward) Roque of Lethbridge, AB. He was a proud grandfather to Senaiah, Bella, Izaiah, and Mayumi Evangelista; Rafa Flores; Jann Arcino; Ryu Arcino; and Emma and Lexie Joaquin, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

Born in Pampanga, Philippines, on February 7, 1945, to Aureliano and Olimpia Lozano Roque, Melham’s early life was shaped by dedication to family, education, and faith. He later immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and began building a life rooted in service, community, and hard work.

Melham worked for many years as a respected foreman at Haul-All Equipment.  A passionate supporter of the Filipino community, he was instrumental in helping many fellow migrants adjust to life in Canada. In recognition of his tireless efforts, he was the recipient of the first-ever Award of Excellence, presented by The Honourable Rachael Thomas, for his outstanding contributions to the Filipino community in Lethbridge.

Beyond his professional and community achievements, Melham was a loving and devoted family man. He was an active tennis player, an enthusiastic fisherman, and someone who valued time spent with loved ones.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and service that will live on in all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Parallel Church, 211069 Township Rd 90A, Lethbridge, AB. All who knew Melham are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
