Mabel Lillian Wilde

Mabel Lillian Wilde, beloved wife of the late Marlin David Wilde, passed away at Fort Macleod Extendicare on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the age of 98 years. A month and a half before her 99th birthday.

Mabel is survived by her children; Christopher Marlin Wilde of Lethbridge, AB, Lawrence David Wilde (Chie) of Mississauga, ON, and Kim Kathleen Huculiak (Richard) of Lethbridge,AB. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Chris’ family – Wayne with his son Nicholas, Matthew (Dagmara), Mischa, Shehera, Elodie;  and Jeremy; Larry’s family – Renee (Ryan Benson) with their children Archer and  Scout, Dustin (Jennie) with their children Aurora, Isabella, Evalina, Lyla, Odessa and Daniel, and Emily (Brandon) and their children Draxion, Selene, and Kylie; and Kim's family - Heather (Gord Reddekop) with their Kierra, Michael and Logan, David and his children Steven, Claire and Ashton (deceased).

Mabel is predeceased by her husband Marlin David in 1984, first born son Terrance Kent in 1945, her siblings Price Gibb, Elodie Ehlert, William ‘Bill’ Gibb, Jehzeel ‘Jill’ Wonnacott, Ethel Lilly, her parents William Henry Gibb and Mabel Adelaide Price.

Mabel Lillian Gibb Wilde was born on May 14, 1924 to William and Mabel Adelaide in Magrath, AB. She attended school planning on becoming a teacher. She attended Normal School upon graduating High School. During her later high school she met Marlin David Wilde of Welling. They were soul mates and while Mabel was away at Normal School, they wrote to each other all the time. Marlin would write the most beautiful letters with sweet and loving poetry and telling her how much he missed her. When she graduated as an elementary teacher, she returned to Magrath. Then Marlin and Mabel were married in the Cardston Temple on November 14. 1943.

Friends may meet the family on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m. prior to the service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lethbridge East Stake Chapel, 4105 Forestry Ave. S. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Interment will follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
