Lucy Eagle Bear Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, auntie, niece, granddaughter, cousin and friend. Lucy Alice Eagle Bear was surrounded by her family when she passed away at Rockyview General Hospital on December 13th, 2024 at the age of 29 years.

She was called home to her parents Jimmy Healy and Karen Eagle Bear; sister Kimberely Eagle Bear; maternal grandparents Eddie and Hazel Eagle Bear; paternal grandfather Johnny Healy; uncles Dexter Eagle Bear, Farley Wesley (aka Smiley) Eagle Bear, Rudy John Healy and Aldwin Healy; aunt Marlene Healy.

Lucy was born on November 7th, 1995 in Lethbridge, AB. She grew up on the reserve and the city, she would stay in Old Agency on the weekends, and Lethbridge during the week days to attended school through grade 1-12. After high school she had moved to Calgary, AB and attended the MC College Hair School. Which made sense because growing up she has always had a passion for hair, makeup and fashion.

She also loved to “bedazzle” her things, whether it was her phone, bags or clothes. Another one of her passions was the guitar which she taught herself how to play and would sometimes pull it out when she had company. One thing a lot of people won’t know is she had a book she wrote songs/verses in that no one was ever allowed to read. It was rare when she would give you a chance to read a page.

Although Lucy did not have any children of her own, she loved spending time with all her nieces and nephews who she cared for deeply. As you can imagine she was the coolest Auntie any child could have. She was full of life, energy, and she was downright fun. Most importantly, she had an eternal love for her family. But we weren’t her only loved ones. She also had a strong connection with the many animals she cared for over the years, especially her dogs. You would often see her driving around with her beloved pitbulls.

She lived life to the fullest, with a kindness and courage that inspired everyone around her. Throughout her life she made many friends, and will be remembered as a kind outgoing person who loved to tease and joke around.

She is survived by her brother Micheal Eagle Bear; nieces and nephews Kylie Eagle Bear-Big Throat, Kyle Eagle Bear-Big Throat, Caleb Eagle Bear-Big Throat, Miley Eagle Bear-Big Throat, Nova Soop, Kaydence Bastien and Jax Bastien; godparents Jim and Ish Eagle Bear; sisters/cousins RaeLee Eagle Bear and Kineisha Eagle Bear; paternal grandmother Isabel Healy; uncles/aunties Mary (Gordon Alex) Fox, Casey (Charlotte) Healy, Debra Healy and Mark (Iris) Healy. Lucy had numerous family and friends, we apologize if any names were missed.
