John Robert Cooke

    John Robert Cooke beloved husband of Doreen passed away from cancer at Chinook Regional Hospital on June 27, 2024 at the age of 81 surrounded by family.

    He is survived by his loving wife Doreen of 60 years, daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Kurt Rathwell, and 3 very loved grand children Kailey, Julia and Rachel. 

    John was born on Sept 20, 1942 in Toronto ON to John & Agnes Cooke. He was an avid runner, having completed 36 consecutive races at Spokane Washington’s Bloomsday run and 28 Marathons including the Boston Marathon. 

    John will be remembered for his generosity, quiet presence and unique sense of humour. Many will miss seeing him running through the community. 

    He regularly checked the obituaries to see if his name was there…Hey Dad, you finally made it. 

    Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 560 Highlands Blvd W., Lethbridge on July 9 at 2pm.
