It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Jean Darlene Robertson announce her passing on May 20, 2026 at Buffalo Grace Manor in Lethbridge, Alberta. Our mother chose Mother's Day to say goodbye — a fitting tribute after 93 years, as her greatest accomplishment was raising and loving her six children.
Jean was born December 5, 1932 in Lewvan, Saskatchewan — one of seven children on the family farm. She married the love of her life, Hugh Robertson, in 1950 and together they made their homes in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Jean worked as a nurses aid, daycare operator and office administrator with the Saskatchewan government. In retirement, Jean and Hugh moved to Calgary until his passing after 53 years of marriage.
Jean was a cherished mother to Joanne Thomson of Langley, BC; Glenda (Fred) Muckelt of Regina, Sask; Lyn (Sherrill) Robertson of Kelowna, BC; Blair (Mercy) Robertson of Lethbridge, AB; Doug (Kim) Robertson of Lebret, Sask; and Lori (Ron) Burnett of Regina, Sask. She took immense pride in her growing family and leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy.
She will also be missed by her brother, Lloyd, and sisters Nelda and Judy together with brother-in-law Leroy, sisters-in-law Barb and Marlene, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter Lori; brothers Wayne, Doug, Edwin and Jack; son-in-law Terry; and grandson Craig.
A private family service will be held at a later date when she is laid to rest next to her husband in Regina.
