Gerard Clewes

Gerard (Gerry) Christopher John Clewes died at Lethbridge, Alberta on December 25, 2022 at the age of 70.

Gerry is survived by his wife Donna, his brother Mal (Mary) Clewes and sisters Elaine (Bob) Thrale, Liz, Iwaskiw and Nicky Clewes, mother-in-law Wanda Engleson, brothers-in-law Dale Engleson, Danny (Bert) Engleson and their families. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Jennifer, his parents John and Gladys Clewes, his brother-in-law Ron Iwaskiw and father-in-law Herbert Engleson.

Gerry was born in Bevington, Cheshire County England in 1952. Gerry worked for Canadian Pacific Railway as a trainman and conductor for twenty-five years until he retired in 2011. Gerry liked to run and was in good physical condition. He competed in four marathons. Gerry loved nature and hummingbirds. He enjoyed many trips with his beloved wife Donna to Hawaii, Sedona, and their last trip to Salt Spring Island. Gerry loved to sing and play guitar and he shared his amazing gift at social events including serving at the Lethbridge Senior Center and the homeless shelter. When he retired, he fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams and played bass guitar in a band.

Gerry will be sadly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him. Jennifer, their beloved daughter who died in 2011, graciously came to get her Dad when he was ready to transition. Gerry you are in bliss, peace, and love on the other side of the veil. Your suffering is over. You are with our beloved Jennifer, your guides, angels, and God.

Donna, his beloved wife, and soul mate, feels the depth of her sadness during her loss. They were blessed to be together for forty-eight years. Gerry, you were a gift- my hand is over my heart in gratitude for the life we shared together. Love just is. I will love you forever.

No formal funeral service will be held.
