Garth William Hughes

Garth William Hughes, beloved husband of Sharon Hughes, of Lethbridge Alberta, passed away on Jan 11, 2024, at the age of 82 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hughes, and eight children: Diane Koenen, Donna Hughes-Groves, Allen & Cheryl Matthews, Darcy & Ev Slawson, Jeri Slawson, Terry & Tami Slawson, Bobbi Olson, and Gordon Hughes & Tasha Rancier. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren and sisters, Charlene Laing and Doreen Gyorkos. He was predeceased by his brother Ben Hughes.

Garth was an avid hockey player, known for his talents on the ice. He played for the Lethbridge Native Sons and Great Falls hockey leagues, demonstrating his dedication and love for the sport throughout his life.
 

One of Garth's greatest joys was spending time at his lake lot in Cowley, Alberta, where he created cherished memories with his family. He found solace and happiness in nature, particularly at Waterton National Park.

Garth will be fondly remembered for his incredible role as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a pillar of support for his family, always ready to lend a helping hand and provide unwavering love and care.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Park Meadows Village for their kind and caring nature. Their dedication and compassion during Garth's time there are greatly appreciated by the entire family.
