Edwin Hendriks

HENDRIKS, EDWIN – July 15, 1968 – June 8, 2020

    Ed (Edwin) Hendriks of Lethbridge passed away suddenly at home on June 8, 2020 at the age of 51.

    Ed is the loving father to 3 beautiful children: Brandon Hendriks, Mia Hendriks and stepfather to Kayla (Clint) Russnaik.

    He is survived by 1 brother Gerald (Mary) Hendriks, 4 sisters: Margaret (Tom) Manley, Annette (Rob) Vander Molen, Elizabeth (Dave) Bakker, and Loretta Schlichter and many nieces and nephews.  His nephew Chad Vander Molen will remember his uncle as his best friend, mentor and best man.

    Ed was predeceased by his parents Ben and Jean Hendriks, sister Veronica and all his grandparents.

    He was born July 15, 1968 and was the fifth child of six, the second redhead of two and the second boy of two in the Hendriks family.  We moved 14 times so 3 of us were born in Medicine Hat and 3 in Lethbridge.  Edwin was the 3rd one born in Medicine Hat.

    Edwin was a sweet baby and grew up to be a sweet, shy and gentle giant. He had lots of friends and was always smiling and had a great sense of humor.   He started out average or even on the short side by grade 9 but then the growth spurt started as he grew to 6’ 10” tall with size 15 feet. He had a few different careers he was an electrician, a Security Guard and then a window and door delivery and installer. 

    We will miss the sweet person we loved and remember the happy times and are glad he isn’t struggling anymore and safe in the arms of Jesus.

    A Private family graveside service will be held.
