Bruce James Moffat of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Edna Moffat, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the age of 87 years.
Bruce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 14, 1935 to parents Jim and Edith Moffat. It was in Winnipeg where Bruce was raised and educated alongside his four siblings: Marilyn, Barb, Heather, and Jim.
Bruce met Edna Marie Carlson and the two were married on September 14, 1957. Bruce was employed at Siemens of England in Winnipeg manufacturing products ranging from traffic lights to the superconducting magnets used in medical scanners and the drives. While working with Siemens, Bruce & Edna were transferred to the office in Edmonton and then to Calgary when Bruce accepted a position with AGT.
Bruce & Edna moved to Brooks, Alberta where Bruce worked as an equipment installer. In 1972, after 14 years and a promotion to co-foreman, Bruce transferred and he and Edna made the move to Lethbridge, Alberta. It was while working in Lethbridge that Bruce was promoted to Service Manager of Business Communications in 1975.
Bruce was president of the Elk’s club from 1966-1967 and loved to spend time in Whitefish, Montana. He was a woodworking enthusiast and a notable contributor to eight different charities including the Chinook Regional Hospital – Jack Ady Cancer Centre and the Lethbridge Humane Society - where Bruce’s beloved pet cat Kimbeau is being looked after since his passing.
Many heartfelt thanks to all the friends who cared for Bruce during his time of needs: Darcy, LeeAnn, Jodie, Elsie and Bob, Marc, Liz, Shannon, Brenda, Brian, and St. Michael’s, to name a few.
Cremation has been entrusted to Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home.
