Audrey Kesler Obituary

KESLER, Audrey Jean (Bissett)

With sadness in our hearts we share the passing of our beautiful mom on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the age of 91 years and nine months after a brief battle with Covid pneumonia. She is the beloved wife of the late Harley Lorence Kesler.

She is survived by her four children; Carol (Ron) Davis of Garland, Utah, Les (Esther) Kesler of Lethbridge, Glen (Karen) Kesler of Surrey, B.C. and Loralee Kesler of Coaldale. Audrey is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Lorence, a grandson Darren, her parents and all of her siblings.

Audrey was born on December 3, 1929 - her father's birthday. She never failed to mention that fact. She was the youngest of four children born to Aubrey and May Bissett. She spent her childhood and youth in Lethbridge with her best friend; brother Alvin Bissett and she often talked of their adventures. Mom also liked to talk about her time playing on a women's basketball team when she was 15.

Family and friends will remember mother's Christmas hand dipped chocolates, the good Friday hot cross buns, knitted dishcloths, playing crib, camping, reading, word search puzzles and quilts. She had quilting buddies Ann-Louise and sister Phyllis. She and Phyllis made quilts for the Chinook Regional Hospital NICU, members of their families and lots and lots and lots of baby quilts for many little ones in family, at church and for friends.

Many in Southern Alberta will remember mom for making and decorating their wedding cakes.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her whole life and served in many capacities.

Mom and Dad had many special friends throughout Southern Alberta and they are still cherished today by her children.

The family would like to express special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Park Meadows Good Samaritans where Mom lived for the past year and a half. Also, our thanks to the Drs. and Nursing Staff at Chinook Regional Hospital 3B and to Dr. Wilde.

Due to Covid 19, the family is having a private service, we thank extended family and friends for their understanding, love and support.
