It is with great sadness that we say, “God be with you till we meet again,” to our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Ashley Rene Earl left us far too soon. She passed away peacefully on Christmas morning in Lethbridge, Alberta, surrounded by her family, who will miss her deeply.
Ashley was born August 6, 1989, in Calgary, AB, to Richard and Melodye (McKenna) Earl.
She will be lovingly remembered by her parents; her siblings Ryan, his children Eli, Lukas, and Annabelle, his partner (Briage Lock) and her two children, Quin and Zavien, of Raymond; Scott Earl of Lethbridge; Rebecca Earl (Bobbie Lynch) of Powell River, BC; Megan Earl of Raymond; Chad Earl of Lethbridge; Christy (Riley Bore) and their daughter Elizabeth of Calgary, AB. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandmother, Sue McKenna of Raymond.
She will be missed by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Ashley always brightened the room when she came into it. She had a great sense of humor and laughed often, which helped her get through many hard times. She had a deep love for her family, especially her niece Elizabeth. They adored each other equally. Ashley loved being out in nature, as she felt closest to the Lord there. One of her favorite places to hike was Waterton Park.
She loved to cross-stitch, and her favorite thing to make was fridge magnets and Christmas ornaments, which she made many of to give away, including to the nurses at Dialysis. She spent hours making them and truly loved it. She also enjoyed crocheting and made many blankets for her family, which will always be treasured.
Ashley was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 16. It was not easy for her, but she took it all in stride and continued to live her life with joy. She loved working with people with special needs and also loved children. Her last job was working for SACLA in Lethbridge until she became very ill three years ago, when her kidneys began to fail for unknown reasons and she moved home.
This was when she began dialysis three days a week, often coming home with terrible headaches. This marked the beginning of more health challenges, which she endured with great strength. We were in awe of all she went through, yet she continued to love life and serve others. We are so thankful for the years we had with her. She will be greatly missed and was deeply loved.
