Marvin Dalmain Jarvis

MARVIN DALMAIN JARVIS at 96 years of age, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Raymond, AB.

          He was born May 7, 1922 in Evarts, Alberta to Louise Johnson and William Freeman Jarvis.

          Dal lived a long and fulfilling life.  Having dual American and Canadian Citizenship, he had a variety of occupations in both Canada and the U.S.A.  He enjoyed all of his employment opportunities, but most of all he loved people.  After moving to Raymond from Calgary in 1990 with no grandchildren close by, he would make a point of introducing his new pint size neighbors to his cookies, candies, and love.  This unconditional love and acceptance was his greatest accomplishment.

          Dal is predeceased by both parents, his three sisters:  Eva Jarvis, IlaMae McDonald of Sylvan Lake, and Verlyn English of Oceanside, California.  Also one brother Bill who passed in World War II and a son Ken Jarvis of Calgary, and two grandsons Robert, son of Rita Dechant and Chris, son of Donna Jarvis.

          From his first marriage to Lorna (Gourley) Blount he had two sons:  William Dalmain (Lorna) Jarvis of High River, and Gerald Brent (Edithe) Jarvis of Raymond.

          From his second marriage to Ethel Sarchuk, eight additional children:  Lorrie Linda (Garry) Gramlich of Raymond, Rita Louise (Gene) Dechant of Fairview, Richard John (Nyla) Jarvis of Rapid City, South Dakota, Kenneth Roy (Heather) Jarvis (deceased), Donna Marie (Cecil-deceased) Jarvis of Calgary, Peggy Ann Jarvis-Pitcher of Calgary, Ethel Lynn (Donald) Wright of Calgary, and Ryan Wade Jarvis of Calgary.

          In addition, at the time of passing he was blessed with 37 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

          The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, KNIGHT STREET CHAPEL, 260 E, 200 N, Raymond.  Friends may meet the family on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home, 703 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge, or prior to the service at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

          Interment at 3:30 p.m. at the Barnwell Cemetery.
