Grant Cahoon Nelson

GRANT CAHOON NELSON, of Stirling, passed away peacefully in the Raymond Hospital on January 4th, 2020 at the age of 74. He will be missed dearly by his wife, Connie Nelson, his children, Jeff (Angie) Nelson , Lisa (Chad) Nelson, Kristi (Darren) Mazutinec, Jimmy (Patti) Nelson, Roxanne (Jared) Heggie, Cindy (Josh) Smith, Kevin (Kaleigh) Nelson and Shawn (Brett) Nelson, as well as 39 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents, Farrell and Ellen Nelson, his brother, Brian Nelson, and sister, Rita Joy Nelson.

Grant was a beloved member of the Stirling community. He dedicated his life to loving his family and leaving them a legacy of the things most important to him: work, worship, play, and service. He had a talent for being a leader and knew how to set goals and get things accomplished. He was able to use this talent to grow his family farm, Nelson Family Ranches, to serve as Bishop and in other church responsibilities, and to support his community as the Lion’s Club President. He took great joy out of supporting his grandchildren in all that they were involved in.

Grant’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 8th at 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Stirling. The interment will follow in the Stirling cemetery. Friends wanting to meet with the family to remember Grant may join us on Tuesday, January 7th, in the Grant Nelson Hall in the Stirling Lion’s Community Center from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. A viewing will also be held at the Stirling Church on Wednesday, January 8th, from 9:00am - 10:30am prior to the funeral service.
