Uncle Gord was extremely intelligent and funny, he had a great sense of humour. We still quote some of his sayings like, "You need a checkup from the neck up". When I was a kid he would play rummy with me and make obvious "mistakes" like throwing a wild card in the discard pile like he didn't realize it was an important card. For a kid, it was fun and exciting to catch him making mistakes at cards. He was the baby whisperer. I have many memories of him holding one of my babies and the baby falling asleep laying on his chest. It was so peaceful. He loved babies. Uncle Gord would often give me money to help pay for gas when I drove from Calgary to Lethbridge to see my grandmother and he would say that he wants to make sure I keep coming because he enjoyed our visits. He is the longest living person in my direct family history. We grew apart after his mother, my Granny D, died. It is my wish that Granny and Uncle Gord have a joyful reunion and peace together in the afterlife....

For many years Gord was a loyal friend and dear customer at LA Lounge. He never failed to stop in for his daily coffee, cookies and chats with the staff and friends. Gord will be sorely missed and always remembered. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. May he rest in peace, Gladys and Garry.
