Sylvia was born February 17, 1927 in Raymond, Alberta to Bertram John Coombs and Annie Yates. She was the 7th of 9 children. She spent her first 14 years in Raymond and then moved to Rosemary, Alberta. There she met and married Lyle Charles Parker. Together they went on to have a family of 11 children. They were her greatest joy.
Sylvia loved music and could be found singing in groups, playing the bass drum in a marching bands, leading choirs, and dancing whenever possible. She entertained her grandchildren with her yodeling and spoon playing skills.
Sylvia was not afraid of hard work and so went on in her life to accomplish many goals. She furthered her education and received a degree in social work. She was very well liked and appreciated by her clients. She then went on to serve a family history mission for The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ was her other great love. Sylvia was very loved and will be missed by her friends and her large posterity of 323 members and growing.
